About our School
Our vision for curriculum
To maintain the core curriculum offer and standards and to extend and enrich the curriculum with activities and visits that bring a sparkle in the teaching and learning process for all.
Our ethos is to promote the principles of the Mission Statement. To engender a strong sense of independence, fun, excellence and enjoyment in learning; and an environment that celebrates mutual respect to all.
At Avonmore we follow The National Curriculum
Our Nursery and Reception class follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum.
With the introduction of the New National Curriculum we have identified Awareness, Curiosity and Ambition as drivers underpinning the experience we deliver to children attending the school.
These three drivers support our cycle of learning and development- knowing (what we know now- our self-awareness and knowledge), seeking (wanting to know and understand more) and doing (testing and re-evaluating what we know).
To know again, to know more
Our curriculum plan and half termly learning bulletins can be found on our important information page under the ‘class bulletins’ tab.
Avonmore School offers a range of clubs for pupils in KS1 and KS2. The clubs include French, PE skills and Art. The club offers change every term and vary depending on availability of providers.
At Avonmore families have daily access to after school care at Addison Primary School. Children are escorted to this service after school via a ‘walking bus’.
